Perplexity MCP Connectors

Connect MCP servers to Perplexity

Perplexity can add any remote MCP server as a custom connector. Once added, you turn it on in a thread and Perplexity can call its tools next to web search.

Paid plans only. Custom remote connectors need a Pro, Max or Enterprise plan. Free accounts do not see the option.

Add a Custom Remote Connector

  1. Open Settings → Connectors on the web or desktop app
  2. Click + Custom connector in the top-right corner
  3. Choose Remote
  4. Fill in the name and the MCP server URL
  5. Pick the authentication method and save

On some builds the section is called Apps and Connectors. On Enterprise, a workspace admin controls access.

Authentication

Custom remote connectors use OAuth or an API key. For OAuth, finish the sign-in in the browser tab before you close it. If the sign-in does not stay, remove the connector and add it again.

Use the Connector in a Thread

Start a new thread and turn on the connector from the sources menu. Ask a question that only the server can answer to check that it works.

Find Servers to Add

Browse the MCP server directory and filter by the streamable-http or sse transport. Each remote server page has a Perplexity tab under Add as a Connector with the exact URL to copy.
