Microsoft Copilot MCP Connectors
Microsoft Copilot uses MCP servers through Copilot Studio. You add the server as a tool on an agent. The agent then calls the server's tools, and you can publish it to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams.
No custom MCP setting in the consumer Copilot app. The free Copilot app at copilot.microsoft.com cannot add your own MCP server. Use Copilot Studio with a work account.

Requirements
- A paid Microsoft Copilot Studio license or trial
- A remote MCP server that uses the Streamable HTTP transport. Copilot Studio dropped SSE support in August 2025
- Power Platform data policies apply, because MCP servers connect through connectors
Add an MCP Server in Copilot Studio
- Open your agent and go to the Tools page
- Select Add a tool, then New tool
- Select Model Context Protocol. The MCP onboarding wizard opens
- Fill in Server name, Server description and Server URL
- Pick the authentication type and select Create
- On Add tool, select Create a new connection, then Add to agent
Write a clear description. The agent uses it to decide when to call your server.
Authentication Options
- None for public servers
- API key sent in a header or a query parameter
- OAuth 2.0 with dynamic discovery, dynamic client registration, or manual client ID and secret
If the server supports OAuth dynamic discovery, choose it. It is the simplest setup.
Find Servers to Add
Browse the MCP server directory and filter by the streamable-http or sse transport. Each remote server page has a Copilot tab under Add as a Connector with the exact URL to copy.
